Supervision for therapists

How I work as a supervisor
I’m a UKCP-registered clinical supervisor, offering supervision for counsellors and psychotherapists in private practice and a range of other settings. Sessions are available online or in person from my consulting room in Bruton, Somerset.

I’ve worked as a therapist since 2005 and have been providing supervision to individuals and groups for over ten years. Alongside this, I’ve spent many years teaching and supervising trainee counsellors and psychotherapists.

Supervision is a place to think together. It’s somewhere to bring the parts of the work that feel clear, as well as the moments that leave you uncertain, stuck or affected.

Good supervision isn’t simply about oversight or accountability - it’s about having the time and space to reflect, notice what’s happening in the therapeutic relationship, and make sense of your own responses as well as your clients'.

I aim to offer a warm, collaborative relationship where you can speak openly, challenge your thinking, and leave with a clearer sense of where you are and what feels important.

You might bring client work, ethical dilemmas, questions about process, professional development, or simply the impact that therapeutic work is having on you. Whatever you bring, my role is to help you think it through rather than to provide ready-made answers.

My approach
My approach to supervision is integrative, drawing on a range of therapeutic perspectives to support the work rather than following any single model. My thinking is informed by psychodynamic and attachment theory, analytical psychology, Gestalt, humanistic and existential approaches, alongside trauma-informed practice.

At the heart of my work is psychosynthesis and transpersonal psychology. These approaches encourage us to hold the whole person in mind - both practitioner and client - and to value reflection, meaning and lived experience alongside clinical understanding.

I see supervision as a collaborative conversation rather than a directive one. I won’t tell you how to practise, but I will help you think more deeply about your work, notice what might otherwise be overlooked, and, where it feels useful, offer challenge with curiosity and care.

My experience and background
I hold a Diploma in Integrative Supervision, alongside a Master’s degree in Psychotherapy and a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling.

I’m a UKCP-registered psychotherapist and clinical supervisor and work in line with the UKCP Code of Ethics.

Practicalities
I offer supervision sessions on a weekly, fortnightly or monthly basis, depending on your caseload, setting and requirements.

Supervision is fully confidential. No identifying client details are shared.

Sessions are £90 for 50 minutes.

In person or online?
I offer both online and in-person supervision in Bruton, Somerset.

Getting started
If you’re considering supervision with me, our first meeting is a chance to talk about your work, your context, and what you’re looking for from supervision.

Just as importantly, it’s an opportunity for both of us to see whether the fit feels right.

“Someone I loved once gave me a box full of darkness. It took me years to understand that this too, was a gift.”

Crossing the threshold

As Benjamin Franklin famously wrote in 1789, ‘In this world, nothing can be said to be certain, except death and taxes.’¹ Death may be universal, but taxes are anything but. They reflect political choices about what society values, who should contribute, and which services deserve support rather than penalty.
